Spring at the farm... 2010

I can't believe that I'm finally here at the farm, in 2010. What a long road, what a journey it has been to make it to this point. Legally, I'm still in limbo. The lawyers are goofin off, going to seminars and dragging out the probate as long as humanly possible to make the most money off Roy's estate they can. The problem is that taxes are piling up on this side of the farm, and no one is paying them. How does that work?

The animals at the farm are doing great. We only have two cats, Cherokee and Paleface. Cherokee is getting older but she looks and feels great. She mostly stays indoors with Jim and his rat terriers, Abigale and Cleo. Paleface mostly stays outside and she is doing pretty good. She just drinks water all the time and it seems excessive. Otherwise she seems healthy. The two new dogs from the shelter, Biscuit and Summer are doing great. The have free roam of the place and they play and sleep on big cushions, they have balls and toys, the retrieve quite well, and also sit. Biscuit has learned lay down too.

The fenced yard for the two big dogs is coming along. Now it needs mowing so fence work has stopped and tomorrow we will clean and mow. We haven't had a ton of sunshine lately, so everything is very strong and green. We have to mow now or it would be impossible later. Jim put in two small solar lamps at the start of the sidewalk out front and they look super nice. We also have two new adirondike chairs out in the yard by the table that look nice. Soon we will bring the BBQ over and we can start cooking outdoors. The weather got a little colder the past couple of days and nights, but I believe that was the last round, and hopefully we've got a straight path right into some beautiful spring days. Jim has dug up the front flower bed and promised to landscape it in his usual style, random rocks and plants. It always looks nice. I can't wait to see what he does with it. I have one pot filled with little flowers Jim sprouted that I think will be blue. The dragon tree didn't make it; one of the cats peed in it. Grrrr...
